By Light, We Rule
House Aurelias has sat upon the throne of Olyad and controlled all of Eden for five straight generations. They were directly responsible for the Unification War, invading the northern kingdom of Paraxis. Their zealotry during the war forced House Vane off the throne. After their ascension, the religious zealotry of Olyad turned to pure bloodlust. The populace has cooled since the end of the war, but this bloodlust is still present to this day.
We Turn With the Wind
Although one of the weaker of the Great Houses when it comes to influence, House Vane remains the primary rival to House Aurelias. They play nice with the crown, but they were the dynasty for nearly 400 years prior to the rise of Aurelias. They’ve fallen out of favor as of late, but they’re like Alabama in college football. Just because they didn’t win the national championship doesn’t mean they don’t pose a threat to literally everyone at all times. They’re a sleeping giant and are said to have their people in every level of government.

By Light, We Endure
House Li is the second oldest house in existence, with their roots going back more than a thousand years. They were a relatively small, poor house during many of the historical dynasties. They began rising in influence due to their zealous nature regarding the One True God. Nearly 500 years ago, they led a purge of all other religions across Eden, and their cult dug its roots deep into all four kingdoms.
Neighbor To All
Considered to be the most pious house, if not the most religious. House Flanders is powerful based on it’s land control and its sheer numbers. Imagine China, but good. They’re also the house driving technological advancements, so they seem to have all the shiny toys. They are resented by the other great houses as their rise was due to their creation of necessities and technology, not bloodshed. Commoners are aware that their proprietary technology is now being used to bathe other worlds in blood.

Blood Remembers
House Montoya is the oldest house in existence. There is not a history that is written or spoken that they were not present for. Their dynasties are as old as the land itself, and they’ve seen their line crowned King, Emporor, Chancellor, even President. They are the only house that once ruled in all four of the former kingdoms prior to the war of unification.
